DEDICATION TO CUSTOMER SERVICE

In 1969 the Agren family business was a phone and two repair trucks. Routine weekday calls for appliance repair, emergency responses on weekends and over critical holiday periods helped build Agren's reputation for reliability with many Maine families.

Following the establishment of the first store in Auburn-offering one appliance brand, Whirlpool, in 1978-the business experienced its first major shift in culture, attaching a retail presence to a name already familiar in the Lewiston-Auburn and surrounding communities.

As sales, brand offerings and our service arm steadily grew, another store was added in Brunswick in 1983, and then a third in South Paris in 1986. The fourth Agren Appliance store opened its doors on Foden Road in South Portland in 1993, and the fifth was established along the Mid-Coast, in Damariscotta in 2000 (later moved to a busier Rt. 1, in Waldoboro, in 2006).

Customers visiting any Agren store location will find a wide assortment of products from all the major appliance and TV brands available. "In addition, at the Auburn and South Paris stores, Beautyrest and TEMPUR-Pedic beds and a selection of dining room table and chairs also make up part of our busy showrooms."

COMMUNITY

We are asked throughout the year to make monetary and/or product donations to dozens of worthy organizations, charities and family or event-specific fundraisers. We say yes to these requests more often than not, either with monetary contributions, gift certificates or, in what has become increasingly popular, with donations of items for silent auctions-to which we give small appliances such as toaster ovens, microwave ovens, coffee-makers, bread grills and the like to help these community organizations with their events.

We also make available to local Chambers of Commerce, nonprofits, schools and charitable organizations, the large electronic outdoor signs at our Auburn and S. Paris stores when these organizations have a special event or fundraiser to promote. Up to 50% of our signs' messaging is dedicated to announcing these community enhancing efforts.
