On October 1, 2009, Efficiency Maine introduced its new energy efficiency program for appliances, the first in the country. This program is intended to promote the long-term benefits of using energy-efficient refrigerators, freezers, washers, dehumidifiers and room air-conditioners.

Agren Appliance was among the first few appliance retailers to make this new "Cash for Clunkers" rebate program available in Maine - in keeping with its advertising over the years promoting the water and electricity savings to consumers purchasing Energy Star appliances, and their benefits to the environment.

Additional instant and mail-in rebates on qualified Energy Star rated appliances can be used in conjunction with the Efficiency Maine rebate coupons. Our Cash for Clunkers program also includes free removal and responsible recovery services for old appliances. It is not necessary to turn in an older appliance to be eligible for the Efficiency Maine program or other Agren rebates.

Our free appliance eco disposal is an initiative that distinguishes us from other retailers in the state who are charging for these services. As a family-owned Maine business for more than forty years, we are doing our part to see that our customers' discarded appliances are disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.
